TATLIN
Tatlin, the iconic piece of furniture produced by Edra and designed by Roberto Semprini, transcends the typical dimensions of a sofa to become a symbol. A manifesto and iconic image of the 1990s, it is a centerpiece sofa characterized by its spiral shape, loosely inspired by Vladimir Tatlin’s tower from 1920. Designed by Mario Cananzi and Roberto Semprini, thanks to its innovative and unconventional design, it adds a touch of creativity and fantasy to any living space. Whether used as a living room centerpiece or in public spaces, Tatlin features an extremely comfortable circular seat that allows for 360-degree enjoyment. The helical structure, a true feat of engineering, is made of molded and shaped steel.
VULCANO
In ancient times, they were known as mountains, and it was only after the eruption of Vesuvius on August 24, 79 AD, which destroyed Pompeii and Herculaneum, that it was understood they were volcanoes. As the poet John Garland Pollard said, “A volcano is a mountain with a stomach ache.”
The central sofa VULCANO, with its gentle profile, invites us to choose the right posture, either reclining like on a chaise longue or sitting as on a regular sofa. A light emanates from its opening, reminding us of its function, but instead of instilling fear, it relaxes.
ROCKS
The large stones rounded by the waves are exclusive places to admire the sea.To make them ergonomic, a few apparently natural, but in reality well studied deformations, are enough to be comfortable seats. Rocks is a central sofa in white resin of smoothed beauty from which it is possible to admire individually but in the presence of others the surrounding space. Depending on the seating we decide we choose, we decide what to admire, which paintings of a museum, the wall of a hotel hall, of a disco, of a showroom, etc.
CHIOCCIOLA
Arredaesse – 1994 | “If I put my hand on the snail of the woods, all the silent wood joined west with the east magnificent, so that ‘begins the spiral of the universe” Mario Merz.
The snail has a house shaped like a spiral that brings with it. The chair “Snail” is wrapped on itself, soft spiral that welcomes you.
CLEVER BED COLLECTION
Morfeus has chosen Semprini as the artistic director of the company. His task was to transform the mattress into a design object, focusing on the aesthetics of the cover. The bed designs have an added function that reveals itself to the user with a surprising effect only at a later moment. For example, there is a bed with a foldable backrest for reading or a headboard that conceals bedside tables by folding the ends of the headboard.
MONDRIAN
The “MONDRIAN” kitchen has a strong graphic character thanks to its “cubist” lines and the choice of colors: white for the large monolithic volumes, and red and orange for the niches that punctuate the vertical surface. The focal point of the kitchen is the work island. Seemingly a monolithic cube divided by red and orange niches of various sizes, the island reveals its secrets and functions with the click of a remote control that activates the lateral sliding of the two segments of the worktop and the side supports.
The opening of the worktop reveals the sink and the cooking surface and makes it possible, with another touch of the remote control, to vertically extract the exhaust hood. Parallel to the work island is the wall of tall cabinets, whose facade is punctuated by red and orange niches of various sizes and shapes. The retractable doors ensure maximum freedom of movement even while accessing the compartments and the refrigerator column.
MEDUSA
The Medusa mirror is inspired by the eponymous painting by Caravaggio. Its symbolic meaning represents intellectual perversion. Medusa also embodies horror, the other side of Beauty that fascinates and repels, seduces and kills. It is a perfect synthesis of our conflicted relationship with the mirror.
MIGLIORINO DESIGN COLLECTION
This capsule collection for Migliorino Design was created for the first edition of the “Baroque and Neobaroque” Festival, conceived and directed by Roberto Semprini. The festival showcases expressions of “Neobaroque” design, understood as a contemporary interpretation of the Baroque aesthetic that has also significantly marked the history of the Iblean region. Neobaroque has now become a stylistic hallmark of our time.
LAB 23 COLLECTION
Fluxus is the title of an urban furniture collection designed by Roberto Semprini and produced by LAB 23 for the Anello delle Piazze in Rimini. Fluxus consists of objects with linear and essential shapes, favoring curves over edges and smooth arcs over right angles. The objects have a fluid form, as if drawn without lifting the pencil from the paper. They are as linear as the waves of the Adriatic Sea and as fluid as objects shaped by the waves.
The collection is completed with the Rimini bike rack, which interprets the city’s name in a Pop art style. The products are made of steel with a Corten or Ferro Micaceo finish. The seat and backrest of the bench are made of Greenwood.
NEO-BAROQUE WALLPAPER COLLECTION PER ZAMBAITI
When one thinks of the Baroque, it evokes an era lavish with frescoes, architecture, and decorations—both magnificent and tragic, like the earthquake that in 1792 destroyed Ragusa, Noto, and Modica, only for them to rise again more beautiful than before. “Neo-Baroque” is a wallpaper collection of great decorative impact, capable of conveying the symbols of the Baroque through a reinterpretation linked to contemporary aesthetics. Thus, the frescoes of Pietro da Cortona are reborn, as are the interiors of Baroque church domes, or the interiors of a noble residence with collapsed frescoes and dangerously swaying golden chandeliers on the walls.
